Project Information

The Tzar Asen Copper Project is a fully integrated pilot-scale hydrometallurgical plant engineered for the production of 960 tonnes per year (approximately 2.6 tonnes per day) of high-purity copper cathode. The operation is centered around the processing of pregnant leach solution (PLS) sourced from a dump leaching system. Copper is selectively recovered from the PLS using a continuous ion exchange (IX) circuit, which concentrates and purifies the copper-bearing stream. The enriched eluate is then treated via a solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) circuit, producing 99.99% pure copper cathodes that meet London Metal Exchange (LME) Grade A specifications.
