The Shalkiya Zinc Project is situated at the Shalkiya zinc-lead ore deposit in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan. The operation was designed to produce 8,000 tonnes per annum of zinc, utilizing a block in-situ leaching (ISL) method to extract metal directly from the ore body with minimal surface disturbance. The pregnant leach solution is subsequently subjected to solvent extraction for purification and concentration of zinc, followed by electrowinning to produce high-purity metal — maximizing recovery while minimizing environmental impact and operational costs.
