Aktogay Oxide Copper Project

COMPLETED 2006

Project Information

The Aktogay Oxide Copper Project was executed to develop an optimized processing solution for oxide copper ore from the Aktogay deposit, with a design capacity of 10,000 tonnes per annum of cathode copper. Extensive metallurgical testwork on representative oxide ore samples determined leaching kinetics, copper recovery rates, and acid consumption profiles, providing the technical foundation for the Feasibility Study (FS) and the detailed process design. The finalized flowsheet incorporated heap leaching, ion exchange, solvent extraction, and electrowinning. An environmental study report was also prepared to ensure full regulatory compliance.
